We have a ragdoll that is now about 3 years old.  She is very skitzy and
does not hang out much with the family.  I do have 2 kids, 5 and 7 (boys)
and they have attempted to play with the cat with little success.

Is there anyway to reinforce or train the cat to be more sociable?  I had
tried treats but the cat only eats dry food and will not deviate at all.
She has not eaten any of the types of treats we have tried.

Any ideas?

Yes, train the kids to be very quiet around the cat.  When my
granfchildren were small, they came  rushing in like a herd of buffalo
and chase Princess under the bed.  I had to yell "leave the cat alone"
When they became teenagers, she remembered and would only approach
them with caution.   Kids think they can treat them the same ways they
treat dogs -- it won't work.

I agree, I have Ragdolls they like a chilled quiet house hold mine follow me
everywhere, they are real lap cats.  My nearly five years old daughter is
only allowed to run and dash about outside, and only allowed to play and
stoke the cats/kittens when they come to her.  They lay on her bed sleeping
during the day sometimes when she is in there, but as soon as she starts
getting excited they come and lay with me again.

They do seem to like peace and quiet :-)

I've never heard of a ragdoll being skitzy, but I do know that it is very
hard,
amost Impossible to train a cat to be more sociable if its not that
way inclined I've been trying for two yrs alreadyand I haven't
really made a dint in Wilsons behaviour. If you succeed please
let me into the secret  Jean P.
