Have a friend who has a rather sick cat, and is finally facing the grim
prospect of getting her put down.
However, this cat tends to be incredibly noisy and fidgety when in a cage,
and my friend obviously doesn't want her whining all the way to the vet
which would make the entire process even more unbearable than it needs to
be.
So my question is would a vet be able to provide - or even better would it
be possible to purchase from a store - a sedative for the old girl to make
her last journey a bit more...well sedate.
Located in Australia.
Thanks for any advice.

When my Mom's dog had to be put down the vet she has came to the house
and down it for her. I realize all vets will not do that but it might
be worth asking about.

Hey Steve,
The last time, several years ago, that I took my Cat on an airplane, the Vet
sold me sedative pills for Bear. Otherwise he would have clawed his way out
of the baggage compartment and showed up to sit on my lap, about half way
through the flight.
