Do calico and black domestic short haired cats have different kinds of
behaviour than other cats? I have one of each and have never ever seen other
cats behave the way they do.  Perhaps it might be because I am slightly nuts
too :).  Please give me some feed back on this
Thanks

I think everyone thinks their cats act stranger than anyone elses.  Every
cat I have ever owned has acted differently than the rest.

I do think that different breeds have different personality traits.  I
suggest picking up a book with these traits lined out for you.  Even if your
cats aren't pure breed, the book will help.

Yes, I have a calico that is different from other cats, but similar to other
calicos I have had.
My shorthair tortie, is similar to other shorthairs I have had. Both, were
receptive to training. My current Tortie, obeys commands such as "up" "stay"
and "no". If I see him about to do something that I don't like, like jumping
on the table or kitchen counter, and I say "no", he will stop and walk away.
His behavior is strange in other ways from other cats, but not from other
shorthairs.
Cats are just unique and wonderful.
