Hi,
We have two cats. One is a 4 year old neutered tom and the other is a 4
month old female kitten which we have had since she was about 6 weeks old.
We were first a bit wary that the adult tom cat would be agressive towards
the little one but it has turned out to be the other way round. As soon as
she sees him she runs up and pounces, usually grabbing him around his neck
and eventually he gets distressed and will have to get away outside to get
away from her.
We are wondering whether this behavour is normal and would likely to stop
once she is neutered (within the next month or two)

its very normal.. its a dominance thing.  but in kittens it is more that
they are learning their boundaries, and also trying to get the older one to
play more.  At four years, your cat should still be up for a rousing game of
chase and what not..   Time will work this stuff out.. as long as there is
no blood, there is no foul.
