My cat would like to go outside. This white cat with no tail, one green eye
and one yellow eye, keeps attacking my cat. He is apparently a feral male
and my cat is female, fixed. The dang white cat hides beneath my car to
await my cat. She can fend him off. but he attacks from behind. My cat
comes when called, I whistle for her. Her name, you could say, is a whistle.
When my cat tries to get to my porch to come inside, the white cat attacks
and they brawl. My cat now has an abscess on her side and a vet appointment
to lance it. I have to chase the white cat.
Honestly the white cat is a good looking cat but I want to get rid of it. I
am to the point of contemplating murder. I called the animal control and
they suggested a cage but have none available at present.
Any ideas, short of antifreeze?
I doubt that yard sprayer thing suggested in an earlier msg will spray
beneath my car.

You are despicable and you really shouldn't be allowed to have cats. Or
are you just a sad troll?

Why? He already said he was looking for suggestions short of having
to kill that cat. He is trying to protect HIS cat on HIS property
from a mean feral cat that has no business being there at all.
I don't see why it matters if he kills the feral cat himself or simply
traps it and turns it over to Animal Control who will kill it instead.

A simple solution -- Keep her in the house and you won't have the
problem. MLB

Simple, but his cat has a right to go out. It's like if there were
muggers and rapists prowling your neighborhood so instead of wasting
their time catching them, the police simply told you to stay at
home so you won't get mugged or raped.

Call animal control back and ask them if they have a Have-A-Heart Trap, you
could then keep your kitty in for a day, set the trap near your car and
capture your stray, then transport it to a shelter, or have animal control
do the same, the cat could have possible illnesses that your cat could catch
from the fighting (FIV etc) these are serious.
and I personally would get the cat caught and taken care of so it has a
chance to find a home.

I second this. Trap the feral. You could just relocate him, or you could
see if there's a feral rescue group in your area. Also, for a
(relatively) small fee, you might be able to take him to your local
humane society, have him checked out and fixed so he won't contribute to
a local feral population. If you think one feral cat is dangerous to
your cat, think of what a whole litter would be like!
We are feeding a feral/stray who doesn't quite attack our Georgia, but
he does make it clear that when his food dish is out, she shouldn't come
near it. Otherwise, they get along okay. We're going to trap him before
springtime because he needs to be neutered. We'll try to socialize him
so he can be adopted, but at least he won't be adding to the feral cat
problem in our neighborhood.

Thanks for the suggestions.
What about capture and release in a wooded area. My cat insists on
going out. She is a smart cat and knows I open the door to leave and she can
scoot out. My cat tears at the blinds when she would like to go outside and
learned this message to me long ago. I have always let her outside and
stopping now would be difficult for the both of us. Why this feral cat
wants to kill her .. I don't know.
Certainly my cat is worth more to me than this feral killer cat.
As far as not being allowed to own a cat all I can say is that all cats
should be so lucky as to have me as an owner. So, being berated just wont
work Victor Martinez.
What is a sad troll (sic?) Never mind, maybe you do your defining by
example, Victor.
Well, I see this is not where I want to be. Thank you for the suggestions
that were thoughtful.
Victor, no need to reply with some self serving attempt to save face. I
wont be checking this ng again.
