I'm asking because my daughter had a library book with cat breeds and
all the info you could think of, she called me and said I found out
Moe and Rudy's breed, clearly they aren't a full bred.  I always get
the cat from the SPCA. The one here is well run and the cats & dogs
kept up, shots, examinations from a vet and the like.

I know part of name, it's Norwegian something... anybody know the
rest?

I have posted here before often because of their shedding and problems
with it. I did get the book out from the library and can't remember
the breed.  And I wanted to look it up online.

They were abandoned as kittens in a pillow sheet, along with their
three sisters.  I fully believe that animal cruelty are way too lack,
can't understand how anybody can hurt an animal. Rudy and Moe's
sisters died, luckily their was good Samaritan who found brought to
the SPCA.  They lived their until the were eight months old when we
(my late hubby & I) went to pick out 2 cats.  I had told him my
requirements were cats at minimum age of year provably 2 - 3 yrs of
age and weren't long hair. Well Rick feel in love with them and since
he home most of time (he had cancer) and would be spending most of
time with them - hell Rick treated me so well, couldn't say no to him.

They don't have some of their characteristics, the book did say they
aren't lap cats.  Moe & Rudy especially Moe will climb right up with a
paw on each side of my face.  My other daughter lived with me awhile
she saw how Moe acted, then said..I thinks time you get a boyfriend
Ma.  Moe is so bad then when I get to sit up he''ll hang for dear
life.  They get a lot of affection, but can never seem to get enough.

I did get from the vet, Laxatone.  They don't like it, have tried
different flavor, mixing it their food when more hunger which doesn't
work.  With the former cat, Sam, she only weighed 9 lbs I could hold
down while rubbing it on her paws.  These guys are big at 16 lbs and
we know cats have alot strength for their size, I can't hold them down
long enough to get on their paws

Along with breed name, Norwegian _ _ _ _ ?  How to get them to take
hairball ointment?

Thanks, Lynn

Norwegian Forest Cat.
Very beautiful long hair cat.

Lots of methods...keep trying until you find the one that works.
you can try just putting it on a finger, then quickly dabbing it on
their nose and mouth area, or you can try dabbing it on the tops of
their paws.

The stores around here sell Petromalt not Laxatone. Not sure if there
is a taste difference between the two. (?)
My cat licks Petromalt right off my finger...it's like a treat to her.

Norweigen Forest Cat.\
I simply hold the Laxatone or Petromalt tube out for the cat
to smell and lick.  It works.

I have Laxatone got from their vet, they wouldn' take off my fingers
or a spoon...I have do a sneak attack when their snoozing and rub on
their paws
Is petromalt any better that Laxatone? or are cats more likely to take
it?
