Hello,

I am really hoping someone can shed some light on this. I have 2
adult cats & the other day I forgot to bring in their litter tray. One of
them because of this chose to urinate on our bed. What I don't understand is
why the bed + they both sleep on this bed & so why would he choose this
place to urinate when he could of done it anywhere else in the house.

If anyone knows anything about this & besides not forgetting to bring their
litter tray in how I can deter him from choosing our bed again would be
greatly appreciated

Regards

Andrew

Hi, my cat did this once or twice while I was thoroughly cleaning the litter
tray (it took about 15 minutes to really scrub it good, I do that about
once every 2 weeks), so I usually have my mom or someone else in the house
play with kitty while I'm doing this to prevent him from getting mad
his litter box isn't available.  I think he goes on the bed because it
feels (probably to his feet) like the next best thing to litter. :)

Easy solution - have two litter boxes.

Perhaps it would help to have two litter pans so you would never be
without one.   MLB

People have sex in there beds and the cats smell the sex fluids.  Sounds

There must be more to it, though. The cats have made their mark a few
times on a bed in my house that has never seen sex. Was the bed made?
This bed is very small with an extra large quilt that's always
wrinkled and folded all over the bed and when they have urinated, they
have tried to "bury" it like in the litterbox. After it happened, I
put a waterproof cover on the mattress because I was afraid the scent
would draw someone back to it. So now when it happens (and
occasionally it still does), it doesn't soak into anything. It's as
easy as throwing the sheet or quilt into the washer.
