Cats On Husband's New Truck!  Please Help!!!

Long story short I have a husband who hates my 3 indoor and 2 outdoor cats
as it is.  Constantly bitching about the cat litter, hair, clawing, etc.  Of
course his dog sleeps in our bed, with hair, dirt, etc, chews up things and
it's not a problem.....
Well we live in the country and he just bought a new blue truck, and my 2
stupid in/out cats INSIST on climbing on the hood and leaving slight
scratches and paw prints, but I can never catch them in the act.  Obviously
we don't have a garage so we can't lock the truck away from them.
What is a good repellant to use to keep them off his truck?  I've read about
this Scat Mat thing, but does it work?  What about the lemon-based repellant
sprays?  Would they work on a vehicle? I've even thought about getting a
motion detector.....I'm at my wits end.  If anyone has any tips, please let
me know.

(and please no comments about telling the husband to take his dog and truck
somewhere else.......I need the cat-hater's paycheck for at least a few more
years  :-)

Living with a man like that is like selling your soul to the devil.
Think about it!

I'll go on the record as saying that Scat Mats DO work. I had similar
problems with cats (indoor and outdoor) and the Scat Mats fixed the problem.
They aren't cheap; however, it only took about two weeks of continually
placing the mats in the areas I didn't want the cats before they completely
stopped. You can look around on eBay for Scat Mats. They generally sell for
anywhere between forty to sixty dollars depending on the size of the mat.

Gert rid of the guy and keep the cats.   A guy like doesn't
deserve to have you as a wife.

You say you need his paycheck, then I have one
word.....alimony.  `

I have seen several references to a "scarecrow sprayer."  It is a water
sprinkler on a motion detector and is supposed to spray water when an animal
walks into its perimeter.  The level of sensitivity can be adjusted.  If you
are interested, you might want to check the Internet for prices.  I did a
quick search under "scarecrow cat sprayer" and found several locations.  I
have listed two below (I am not familiar with them, but thought this would
give you an idea of what I tried to describe).

Keep the two outdoor cats indoors and the current problem is solved. You are
gonna have to fix your own problem about living with an a.shole though.

How about getting hubby a car/truck cover? "Gee honey, it'll keep your
truck so much cleaner and nicer!" If you're willing to shell out for
scat mats (enough to protect a truck), a car cover sounds like a better
investment.
