Hi all,
This is my first time posting to this newsgroup. So I thank anyone in
advance for their advice.
As I said in the subject line....my kitty urinated on the carpet in my room
and I cleaned the area with my rug cleaner, but does anyone have any
suggestions for REALLY getting the smell out without going and buying
expensive carpet cleaning solutions or stuff from the pet store?
Again, thanks for any hep you can offer.

Well I can't guarantee this but here's what I did.
1. Took back the carpet and removed the pad
2. Used bleach on the concrete flooring below and then painted it (to
seal)
3. Soaked the carpet (front and back) with Nature's Miracle
4. Let everything dry thoroughly
5. Replaced the pad
6. Put everything back together
7. Sprinkled pepper all over the surrounding area (cats hate pepper)
So far so good.

Or, just use nature's miracle
That's all it has taken for us.

What is Nature's Miracle? I've never heard of it.

You can get it in the likes of Petsmart or PetCo, it is excellent stuff and
we use it all the time.

Get rid of the Cat !!! easy ! It's just a joke. You must get new
carpeting. I had a loft apartment a few years back and the former tenants
had a cat and there was nothing they could do to get rid of that smell. New
carpeting came and the smell went away. Before that we tried everything to
get rid of it. You may want to sand down the hardwood floors underneath
the carpeting because the piss soiled the wood as well...

"stuff from the pet store?"
Get PetZyme, from a pet store.
Pet odor is protein-based and cannot be removed simply by washing the
area. An enzyme product must be used to digest the odor-causing protein.
It's important to follow the instructions for these products in order
for them to be successful.
