My little kitten of 9 weeks has a swollen stomach and a slightly sore bum
also has runny poos, when she goes, When i got her from the pet shop she was
riddled with fleas (which I kicked up a stinker) Once all the fleas had
gone, someone told me that fleas carry worms so i wormed her bout 1 1/2
weeks ago.
HELP!
and I can't get can't get into the vets till the end of the week, just a
little worried about her and wondered if there was anything that i could do
for her in he mean time (all she eats is whiskas kitten verious flavours and
the odd treat)
cheers

chances are your little one has coccidia.  When you go into the vets bring a
stool sample.  it causes very loose stools, and those are most likely the
cause of the soar bum.  If you absolutely can't get to the vets , you can
try some plain yogurt and some canned pumpkin (NOT the pumpkin pie mix but
the pure pumpkin puree) it will not get rid of the coccidia, but it might
help your little firm up his stools a bit till you can get him in.

You might want to check with the vet to see if they will do a stool sample
and meds only before the visit.. (although this is now friday and the end of
the week - unless you meant next week)  If you have a vet you go to on a
regular basis, they might.

First -- You said that you got your kitten from a pet shop.  Did you
purchase the kitten, or was it a pet shop that gives household pets to
people?  If you purchased the kitten, is there any kind of warranty?  It may
be that the pet shop is obligated to pay a vet bill or provide some care.

Second -- You said you wormed the kitten.  Does this mean that you bought an
over-the-counter flea preparation?  If so, they are ineffective and often
unsafe.  When you do see a vet, be sure to ask about Advantage or Frontline.

Third -- I think it is essential for your kitten to be seen by a vet right
away.  Kittens can go downhill very rapidly.  You said that you don't get
paid until the end of the week.  Do you have a relationship established with
a vet?  If so, I suggest that you call and see if he or she would provide
care and let you pay with a post-dated check.  Also, most medical facilities
will accept credit cards.

Fourth -- There are better foods available than Whiskas.  Also talk to your
vet about that.  I know you waid that you only feed Whiskas kitten food and
"treasts."  What are the treats?  Does it include milk?  Milk will cause
diarrhea in many cats.

Good luck to you and your kitten.

for kittens and milk plus for kittens this is why i was baffled, When i
kicked up a stinker in the pet shop the used frontline on her to kill al the
fleas, but i bought a herbal flea collar aswell to make sure the fleas
stayed off her, I have now given her the second dose of worming tablets and
she seems fine, she is back bouncing on the wall, still a bit cautious with
her though stomach still hasn't gone down, but the poos are solid.. still
goin to take her to the vets.

I'm glad you're going to take your cat to a vet.  One thing I said about
flea preparations would also apply to medications for worms ... that is,
over-the-counter preparations for worms may not be effective.  It depends on
what type of worms a cat has.  However, your vet will take care of that.  Be
sure to take a fecal sample with you (as fresh as possible, and not "dried
out" by cat litter).
