Anybody notice particular quirks with their cat?
Lately, I've notice (rather heard) my cat talking in her sleep. It starts
off as little "mrow, mrow, mrow" noises and then progresses to long drawn
out "meeeooowrrrrrrrrr" strings lasting more than five seconds each. Maybe
they're the cat version of a snore, but whatever they are, I find myself
watching her sleep for minutes at a time so I can catch the opera when it
happens.
I've also noticed that my cat likes laying on cardboard boxes. I've put out
several pads and soft towels for her to lay on, but her first choice is
always to stretch out and roll around on top of some cardboard box. Maybe
it's the texture or the smell of cardboard, but whatever it is, that's what
she goes for every time.

Cats are fur-covered bundles of quirks, mostly charming ones, often
funny ones, sometimes pesky ones. One of my Melvin's quirks that I
enjoy the most is how much pleasure he gets from exuberantly rolling
around in the bathtub.

I assume that's a bathtub without water? My Deetoo likes jumping into the
empty bathtub too. It's usually a mad dash from my apartment door to the
other end of the apartment ending with a crash like a bowling ball in the
bathtub. She's a decent sized cat, so there's always lots of noise whether
it's the bathtub, a wall or something else that she's bouncing off.

Yes, without water! Detoo sounds like a fun girl. I wonder what either
of them would do if unbeknownst to them someone had put water in the
bathtub. (Dirty trick--I'm not going to try it.)

Kitty is dreaming and sleep talking.
Sounds like he's replaying scenarios of meeting other cats in his
dreams.
Not an uncommon thing to see...it is funny though.

What cat doesn't?
Cardboard is a "cool" alternative to a warm blanket.
Cardboard is made from wood, wood is made from trees...
cats love to scratch, climb, gnaw on,
play with, lay on, and urinate on wood.
It's an instinctual natural material for them.

Hobbes talks to me whenever he wants and to get my attention. His meow
sounds like Barb and other times Mom.
Then there's Feisty and Smokey who love to crawl in the shower and tip water
filled dixie cups over. And even pick them up with their teeth and drop them
on the floor.
