Upon a search of the group, I found the story
had been posted back in 2000...
but it's a good story worthy of another look.

There have been several stories like this that I have seen during the last
few years....A couple of years ago, I saw a film clip of a wild polar bear
playing with a tied-up dog in Northern Canada. Just the other day, "Animal
Planet" had a story about a lioness that was caring for a gazelle
fawn.....Unfortunately, she couldn't feed the fawn, so the relationship was
doomed to failure. The mother instinct is usually responsible for these
unusual relationships......
