Hello All!

This question is for any American's on this group. I have been using
Tidy Cat scoopable litter for the past 2 months but I have realized
that it isn't as good as what the breeder seems to think. So I was
hoping that I could get an idea of a brand that works to help control
up to 3 pee's per day followed by 1 bowel movement (sometimes two). We
clean the box nightly of the daily activity but put in fresh litter
every 5 days after a through washing of the pan. However, we are still
experiencing a horrible odour from this litter.

Thanks in Advance!

It always amazes me how someone can be asking for help and at the same time,
tell someone off. As well as lousy keyboarding skills, you've also got a
poor sense of humour. If you want some suggestions for kitty litter, then
you might try to be a little more cordial.

And since I'm Canadian, I guess I won't bother telling you the brand of the
excellent kitty litter I use. I'll leave you alone now so I can get back to
get back to eating my Canadian back bacon and yelling at my reindeer for
making too much noise.

wasted.

I use Arm & Hammer and clean the boxes twice a day.   The bulk of the
usage comes in the morning, rarely gets used after about 10 am.

Could your odor be seeping into the litter box or on the floor?

Maybe you should try a booda box?

Also you should note that some clumping litters hold together better
than others especially if your cat digs alot.

You might also want to try a higher box.   Some cats miss their aim
and get it on the floor.

That's the problem I had with my cat. I ended up bying the highest sided
Rubbermaid box I could find and used a razor knife to cut a slot in it for
entrance and exit. I works very well, was cheap and highly effective. Much,
much, much cheaper than those two Littermaids that both broke down that I'd
first bought and later found out their sides weren't high enough.

Arm and Hammer multi-cat (two cats) plus the a & h deodorizer.

I don't think it's available in the US, but here in Canada, I use Maxx
Scoop. It has excellent odour control and what I'd consider to be decent
dust control although I've never used another brand of litter to compare to.

I use World's Best which is a flushable and clumping corn litter in
all three of my boxes for 4 cats and have ever since I have had cats.

I scoop whenever I notice that they use one of the boxes instead of
once daily and have no trouble with order.  I would not use anything
else.

I was using World's Best Cat Litter but I found it very lightweight and the
cats tracked it around the house.  I was finding litter everywhere.

Sometime around 1950 they came out with a product called, "Air-wick". It was
in a green bottle, and you were supposed to unscrew the cap, and pull the
wick (a piece of cloth, like a rope) out of the bottle a little way, and it
would "kill the bad odors in your home". I remember my dad coming home from
work one day and throwing ours out. He said that he had found out that the
chemical in the bottle worked by paralyzing your olfactory nerves, and
didn't eliminate the odors in the home at all.....It just made it impossible
for you to smell them.

I have seen many such products during the 50 odd years since then, and I
wonder how many of them work exactly the same as did, "Air-wick". I suspect
they all work the same way, and, like my dad, I wouldn't have any of them in
my home......
