Someone who works at the Cats Protection centre where I volunteer recently
told me that Tinker, an old girl of advancing years (think 17+) who she
adopted last year, only has three toes on each of her back feet.
I never noticed this when Tinker was at the shelter, and I must confess
I've never seen or heard of it on any other cats.
Now we occasionally see polydactyl cats, i.e. those with extra toes, but
has anyone else ever seen a cat with less than the usual number of toes..?
She apparently only has bones for three toes, so she was obviously born
like it.
My friend says that with one of her other cats having 6 toes, between them
they have enough for a complete cat ;-)

("to bad we threw them in the animal shelter".)
