Hi
We let our cat outside during the day. She obviously has been fighting,
but I'm not sure with what. Today I found part of a claw stuck in her
face.  I pulled it out no problem but there is a little bit of blood.
Question is, can I put a little Neosporin on it to keep out infection or
do I need special "Kitty Neosporin"?

Thanks
John

if it has been cleaned once leave it alone  if not use Neosporin one time
and that is it  keep it clean.  if any problems cal lthe vet.
you can use the liquid bandage on the wound to close it up if it is clean
make sure  the furball can not lick it till it dries

what you have to worry about is about your cats vaccinations are they up to
date specially the distemper and rabies if you are in the US or other rabies
areas

Yes, you can use neosporin.  That's what my vet recommended when my cat got
a cut.  Kitty neosporin is the same thing...only more expensive.

I just put a small dab of Vaseline petroleum jelly should my cats pick
up a small cut.  Salt water is pretty good as a disinfectent but I was
always told that cats are pretty good at taking care of their own
maintenence and if they should feel ill they like to be left alone,
within reason off course.

I know a guy who used to work in a pet shop and he told me if a cat it
not well and needs you help s/he will let you know.
