My mothers cat has been diagnosed with this condition. Hobbs has been eating
less (but still eating and drinking) for about 6 or 7 days now and showing
less energy than usual. She took him to the vet this am and did blood work
and all is good except for his liver function. I have read on the net that
this is reversable if caught early and I am wondering if any of you cat
lovers out there have experienced this.

I would be very interested in hearing your stories.

regards,

the clinic I work at has a herboligist on staff.  Often when pets don't
respond to typical meds, she is brought in to consult.  We had one recently
on deaths door, had a feeding tube and wasn't responding till we put him on
the herbs.. he responded the next day.. was amazing.

if he doesn't respond.. call around and see if anyone in your area does
herbal medication for pets. You'll be glad you did.

I would also post this to rec.pets.cats.anecdotes, and
rec.pets.cats.health+behav. There are people that can give advice in
those groups, and a few people that have also had to deal with HL. Good
Luck.
