I just purchased some silica cat litter.

Have you used it and what is your opinion of it?

I wanted a enviromently friendly and unscented litter that would last
longer.

It's only been about 5 days so far, but I noticed it did put off some dust
which really bothered me for a day in my nose, throat, and lungs.

So I take the litter box outside on the porch and scoop it so I don't
breathe in the dust.

Silica dust is an irritant and causes lung damage.  Heard of silicosis?

No, I hadn't heard of that.

Thanks for the heads up.

I will look for an alternative dust free unscented litter.
