It's out of control now. Isis in the box every second of the day when she's
not eating or spending 5 minutes investigating invisible flying thingies.

At night when I take her out of the box she gets ornery and mean. There is
hissing and flailing of claws.

This whole thing borders on debauchery.

me too.  that trail looks beautiful!!    My cat Toby lives in a laundry
basket downstairs.  He loves laying on clothes that are in there...   I can't
get him out of it.  It must be a thing with cats and boxes!!!! hahaha

One of our cats, "Junie" likes to sleep in our clothes dryer. My wife
prepares it for her by leaving the door (it's a front loader) open, and
arranging it so the bumps on the inside are not positioned down, and leaving
her blanket in it, arranged in the bottom so Junie will have a nice place to
sleep. She especially likes it right after use, when it is warm and slightly
damp from drying clothes.

What steps have you taken to prevent the dryer door being closed and/or
the machine turned on whilst Junie is aboard?

It does get closed now and then, but it doesn't bother the cat. There is no
reason why it would ever get turned on, since there are no clothes in it.
When my wife starts to load it, Junie leaves, but she is ready to hop back
in as soon as it is emptied again.

Mine also but I notice all my cats like to also lye on clothes that are
not put away.

I'd love to share some action shots of Isis. Maybe she'd be jumping in the
air or hopping from one piece of furniture to another. I do remember years
ago when I saw her scamper up six feet of draperies, do a 180 at the top,
and scamper down. I remember when she used to hide behind doors and jump up
3 feet and scare the heck out of me. In those days we had some great games
of "Chase Me" and "Run For Your Life".

Maybe it's because it's winter or because she's about 10 years old but this
is the best I can offer. I'm sorry. It's all I got.

My Deetoo likes to climb up my shower curtain. Downside is that it leaks
like a sieve after that. So now every time I finish showering, I hang the
ends of the shower curtains up over the top rail.

Does she do a rippin' fast climb or a slow Everest type climb where she has
to dig her claws in to get a secure foothold?

No, she gets a few feet up and hangs there widening the holes because her
claws get stuck. So, I trim her claws and have to settle for sheer stocking
like long runs at the bottom two feet of the curtains.

Ah, yes.  Comfort is the thing after a certain age, isn't it?  My
Celeste is 12 now.  She has two beds of her own for day time, the
communal one with her people for the night, and the guest rooms for
variety.   It's all about eating and sleeping now, interspersed with
some sessions of being petted and a lot of just sort of lounging.
Melvin, the nearly 2-year-old homeless fellow we took in, tears around
the house like a wild man, plays like life was a never ending amusement
park, and sleeps like a rock when he sleeps.  Cats are just plain lovely
creatures.

A friend of mine saved up all his shredded paper and placed it in a
large box.  The cat goes in there to play and he loves it.

I have this expandable cloth laundry basket which is like a large
spring and tube shaped.  My cats love it better than any of their toys.
