She's very old, almost 19. She was sitting on the hassock & I was rubbing
her head. Suddenly she either fell off or tried to get down & I don't know
if
she had a fit or landed wrong or what. She ran into a corner then ran back &
it was
like she was having a seizure or something. She was stretched out with her
front
legs pulled down & her mouth open. I didn't know what to do, I've never seen
this happen before. I grabbed a small blanket had draped around her bed to
make it warmer the last few days & threw it over her body & held her down.
She kept jerking but it eased up. I'd take my hand away from her legs &
they'd jerk a bit more then finally stopped. She spit up a tiny bit & just
laid there staring & panting a bit. I just kept petting her & talking to her
then a couple minutes later she stood up & looked around dazed. I picked her
up in the blanket & took her to her bed but she didn't want to stay there,
she's laying in the middle of the living room right now all pooped out just
looking around.
We had a dog once that was epileptic & his seizures looked like this. She's
never done anything like this before that I've seen, can't say she hasn't
done it when I've not be there. She did something weird when she was young,
was running backward in circles & neither I nor the vet could figure out
what was wrong at that time.
I know she won't last much longer, it just scared me big time. She's due for
the vet anyway for a check-up & rabies shot (though why a totally inside cat
her
age needs one is beyond me) so I'll give them a call Monday, of course
something
like this would happen on a Saturday....
She's acting ok, she wanted some food & is eating. I had to put some in her
bowl
3 times before she was satisfied.
My nerves are shot.

I think a visit to the vet is called for. Hopefully, you and your vet can
figure out what is going on.

she just had another. I spoke to the vet on call & I'm bringing her in at
7:30 in the morning, they'll do blood work & x-rays to see if it's her heart
or cancer, among other things. I don't what to think about what may happen.

I'm sorry to hear this. Once you have information as what may be wrong, you
can then decide what may be best for your cat. Good luck.

Basically the cancer she had surgery for a year ago is back only you can't
see it this time. If she makes it to her 19th birthday in April it will be a
miracle. I have some medication to ease pain & some special food to try that
may help. We pretty much just have to keep her comfortable & prevent her
from hurting herself if she has another seizure which she probably will.
Right now though she's acting as if nothing is wrong, except she spent the
day at the vets so is not happy!
