My elderly (19 in April) cat threw up this morning. This is nothing
new with
her, at least once or twice a week is the norm. It had a definite
reddish
tinge though, I think I've seen something like this in the past with
her & I
was sure it was the food that colored it. She started mooching for
food
immediately, whatever it is (& it could have been her breakfast, it
was one
of those seared pouches - kind of dark) didn't effect her appetite
though
most of the time what she's given isn't what she wants. I ended up
making a
scrambled egg to satisfy her.
She's not acting sick. Should I just keep an eye on her? Even if I
could get
through to the vet I wouldn't be able to get in for days. She's been
pretty
healthy for her age though she did have surgery last January for a
mass on
her belly.
Thanks

It might be blood you are seeing.
Keep check on her.
When you can you might get her in to the vet.
The surgery may have something to do with the red stuff or it just
might be the food.
Try not feeding her the dark seared pouches, and see then what color
the barf is.
If it is still red take her to the vet.

She just did her weekly spit-up & though it wasn't much I didn't see
anything unusual. I'm going to keep her in the utility room (tile floor) a
bit longer in case
she does more.

Hi,

With a cat of such a grand old age it would be wise to phone the vet for
advice as a precaution. You'll get much better information from your vet
from here - as well as their being experts they also have detailed records
of your cat's medical history.

Luv & hugs to your wonderful 19 years young kitten. :)

Oops! My last message should have read:

history.
