here is his story:
got him around 1 year old
fell off table around 1.5, bad fall, vet found nothing at time, he could not
stand up or walk for week following that fall, then by some miracle, no
pills no notrhing began to walk.. though limping, and seemed lacking
sensation on one side of his body.. but he walked well, pee, poo, appetite,
playing jumping.. everything a normal cat would do.. so since his fall at
1.5yo, and for following 4 or so years, all seemed okay.. until this morning
when we found him lying on bed unable to get up and with his front seeming
completely dead and paralyzed.. the back a bit better but not too good
either.. we're not sure if there is pain.. vet took xray.. found nothing
specific.. gave kortezeon shot+pills for a week.. the cat just kinda lies
still.. reacts to movement okay.. still good appetite.. did poo.. pee.. of
course with help..
we wanted to get your opinion on this..
or any good doctor in montreal area for him? or whatever else you think
could help.
thanks!

I am not a vet. If this were a person, I would strongly suspect stroke.
If you are able and willing to spend the kind of money it would take,
get him a CT scan. If there is a vet school in your area, take him to
their clinic. It does sound serious--be prepared that it might be a
kindness to put him down. So sorry.
When you say "reacts to movement okay" do you mean that he tolerates
being moved, or are you talking about something he does?

thanks Diana.
I meant that his head and eyes.. react to movment well. much like before
when I flash his fav toy before him. I can even see him trying to move his
front paws.. but he cannot.
he also does tolerate being moved.. never makes noise that would ressemble
pain.
in fact last nite I discovered he quite enjoys being lifted, so his back
paws touch ground, and as I move his body across floor, he actually moves
quite well (much like before) his back legs.. as if making the walking
movement. of course it's all very superficial, not what we want to see of
course.. but hey.. better this than nothing of course!
so yes.. I suppose to summarize his condition... try to imagine a cat you
try to lift up then place on the floor.. back and front paws hitting floor
and he's ready to go and walk.. well.. when we do this with this guy... the
back legs touch floor.. but there is nothing in front legs. and his head
literally collapses all way to floor.

I see. It does seem to be paralysis without pain, then. Very sad, but
if you have gobs of time to devote to him perhaps you can maintain his
quality of life. If he had a little wagon to support his front
quarters, do you think he could he propel himself with his back legs?
