My cat has not been eating for 2 days and has been drinking a lot of
water once today. The cat seems to be weak and his eyes are half open.
Should I wait to see if the cat will improve or take the cat to the
vet?

Regards Brian

Take it to the vet asap!!! Seems to me he is not well.
It could be pretty bad, you just don't know at this point. Maybe some
cat-hating idiot has put out baked sponge, which would explain why he
drinks but does not eat. This will kill your cat if not treated soon.
Please go today.

Take the cat to the vet immediately! Cats get very sick very fast if they
dont' eat.

Brian;

I don't know how old you cat is but if he/she is over 10 years old it could
be the onset set of renal failure.

Do as we all have sugguested and take kitty to the vet immediately if not
sooner. Please post kitty's condition when you return.

Could be any of dozens of things.   Assume nothing at this
point except that the cat needs to visit the vet today.

Beyond the cat can't be diagnosed through cyberspace.

I took the cat to the vet who game me some pills to give to him, but
the cat has not improved. Today a blood test proved that the cat is
deteriorating due to the lack of red cells. They are going to do a
count on red cells to see if the cat can be treated.

My problem is in getting water and food into the cat who is refusing
it.

The cat is 8 years old.

Don't even think twice, bring your cat down ASAP. There is something wrong
and it needs to be addressed right away before things get worse.
