Has anybody any recommendations for Catteries in Warwickshire
(Rugby/Coventry area) We would prefer just cats, not dogs etc as one of our
cats is extremely nervous and usually has tranquilisers to stop over
grooming.

Many Thanks

Hi Dave,

I'm not in your area (being in SE London), but would recommend you approach
your local Cat Samaritans, or similar.  We did this, and now board our cats
in a very good Cat-Samaritans-associated cattery.  They have excellent, safe
runs with indoor and outdoor area.  Music (Classic FM) is played for them
all the time as this apparently soothes them!  There is heating (when
needed), an off-floor shelf area, and a cat flap between indoors and
outdoors.  In the past, I needed to board an elderly (20yrs plus) feline
friend, and the cattery were prepared to give him all his meds *and* brush
him every day.  Once, they even removed the shelf when puss needed 'cage
rest' (ie: not allowed to jump up and down, or over-exercise).  They were -
and still are - marvellous!

Invariably, good catteries insist on all injections, up-to-date boosters,
flea and worming treatment.  They often have rules requesting doctored
animals.  They may also ask you to use a solid cat carrier, rather than a
cardboard box.  Their rules are to there to protect your cat(s), so it's
worth making sure you comply.  Ask to look round the cattery before you make
up your mind and book; most catteries will agree to this.

Hope this helps.
