My cat Lou Lou just loves the faster Tony Bennett numbers and also a
large number of favorites by Sinatra and Dean Martin. Her face lights
up and her favorite trick is to jump up on the coffee table when I get
the CD's out.
Does anyone else have a cat that likes music ? :-)

Yes, my cats have all been music lovers, so I assume that it's typical.
Can't say that I've noticed any of them having favorite artists, though.
I've always used music as a stress reducer if cats were having something
to contend with, such as illness, a stranger in the house, spats among
themselves, etc. It has seemed that soft classical pieces, "new-age"
type stuff, really any easy-paced instrumental music with nice harmonics
will do the trick, and I've never had a cat that didn't lie down in the
same room with the speakers while the music is playing.
I spent a few years in the "music biz" a long time ago, and my cats
would gather around when I rehearsed. My daughter got very tired of it,
but the cats were my biggest fans. :)

If the cats have to be left inside the house with no people I always
make sure that the radio is left on for them.
They don't get left any rubbish to listen to either. :-)

Yeah, I can just see it. You leave the wrong station on one day when you're
going out and come home to find your cat is mewing to rap.

My first cat would sleep to the sound of Garry Lewis and the Playboys,
(Listen to the)Rhythmn of the Falling Rain. After she was tragically killed
by a car, I could never listen to that song w/o thinking of her and crying
over her death.

Music tends to have that effect on many people.
I get like that, and can also put dates and events to music.

Isis isn't much of a music fan. She prefers t.v., especially Mother Angelica
on EWTN.
I wish I could find a video of meowing cats. I'll never forget the day a cat
come on the t.v. going 'meow meow' and Isis walked over to it, put her paw
on the screen, and then turned around and gave me the most quizzical look
I've ever seen from her.
