Hello all,
I do rescue out of my home and am not associated with any shelter or rescue
everything I do is out of my pocket.
I am looking for a no kill rescue, shelter or sanctuary that might be
willing to take on any FeLV positive cats. Two cats have come up positive at
a location I am trying to help, they were very sick and were euthanized. I
am trying not to have to euthanize any others and give them a chance. I am
going to have them tested and vetted before going to any no kill rescue,
shelter or sanctuary. Spaying and neutering will be hard to do as it is out
of my budget. We are talking about 1 male 4 adult females and a litter of 5
kittens at this time. I'm hopping to have them moved, confined, treated and
placed before the females can get pregnant again and add to the problem.
These are not ferals these are the result of unfixed pets reproducing. All
are loving, friendly, well fed and in good shape but until they are tested
their health only looks good and is questionable. Two twin female cats from
this location came up negative for FeLV, (so there is hope for the others),
they will stay with me until the vet says they can be adopted out. There is
a chance that only the mother of the two very sick cats I acquired is
positive for FeLV and if so she has five 2 week old kittens that are
positive as well.
Location were the cats are is a good hour and a half drive from me. I am
willing to transport them to a No kill Rescue, Shelter or Sanctuary within
an hours drive from my location in Crosby Texas east of Houston Texas.
Thank you,

Please be extremely careful where you send special needs cats. Several
years ago I sent a senior himmy to a supposed rescue in Tenn. and it
turns out they have 187 counts of animals cruelty against them. I
later found out that they pretty much got off after only having to pay
a fine. Most of the animals were either starved, neglected both
socially and medically or area lost forever. I will never know what
happened to Gramps but I do know one thing. When a rescue is so eager
and ready to take in lots of animals something is wrong. Most are full
to over flowing and as donations barely trickle in most reputable orgs
and individuals realize that they cannot afford the care and refuse to
take in more.
Gramps had both Fel Leuk and FIV. I am sure that he is gone but I jsut
do not want to ever see this horrible thing happen to another animal.
Not sure if you are on any of the yahoo groups but if you are I would
post there and see if seomeone can point you to a reputable place.
Also if you would e-mail me off of the group I have a list of places
not to send to. Good luck with your little one. I included an url if
you would like to read more about the animals from angel wings that
many are still looking for . ReGina
