Hey all...
We have a typical dusty litter, fresh step i think i forget, and we
were thining about getting Yesterday's News but hear it's not great at
hiding or eliminating odors, actually makes them worse (so we hear).
So I'd thought I'd see if I could poll some of you and see what litter
you use.
Thanks!

I use Nature's Miracle litter - it's somewhat more expensive, but it seems
to last longer, and is absolutely fantastic.

I'm in UK, but don't know where you are, so not sure if you can get it....
World's Best Cat Litter. It really is - you can flush it down the toilet
with no risk of blockages.

However, the World's Ultimate has got to be.....next door neighbours back
garden!! 8-)

I'm in the UK and have never seen World's Best- where do you get it
from and how much does it cost?
I use Nisa lighweight (from the local shops-carting a ton of cat
litter from the supermarket is not my idea of a good time I don't care
if I can get a huge sack for not much more than a small bag in the
local shops, I don't drive so if I got that I would need a minicab
and that would completely eradicate any savings). Flushable with care
(Don't empty the whole box down at once)

You can buy online from Pet Planet:
http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product_group.asp?dept_id=45&pg_id=442
I buy the big 15Kg bag for £36 but it lasts for ages - depending on the
number of cats using the litter, you only need to do a full change every
14~21 days. My last bag lasted me three months. The trick is to take the
lumps out daily. I use a litter tray with a hood and which has a carrying
handle, so it makes it easier to carry the tray to the bathroom and then
flush the contents down the loo.
I buy stuff from Pet Planet quite often - cheaper than going to Pets at Home
or Petsmart, and they are very reliable.

It's expensive..! We've just started using it at the Cats Protection
shelter where I volunteer and I got told off for throwing too much away..!
Not sure where you can buy it though, obviously we get it in bulk. It's
good stuff though, I must admit.

Woodgie seems to like Feline Pine (I do, too, as it's flushable) but we
have no problem with using other stuff (thank goodness). Right now we
have Swheat Scoop scoopable, made from wheat grass and it's flushable,
too, but fine grained. Woodgie is okay with it, but seems to dig a lot
more with it...
Just our humble opinions..

I did some cat-sitting for a friend that had 3 cats and she used the Swheat
Scoop as well - it was awesome - couldn't get my cats to use it to save my
life.

I used Swheat,too...but couldnt find it all the time in stores. I cannot
tolerate dusty cat litter...My allergies will not permit it...along with the
ammonia that comes through from urine..we have 7 cats..so I use anything
that has maximum odor control.

We use feline pine. It works pretty good for a numerous cat family.

We use Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract Cat Litter. We have 2 cats and the sometimes
would not use the litter box. The Dr. Elsey's has got them back in the
litter box 100% of the time.

Do crystals clump?

No clumping no smell no dust the urine seems
to soak in the bottom crystals and stays there.
I keep my boxes in the basement clean them weekly
the dust was awful before using the crystals and the
cats don't smell like a litter box. The clay clumps
used to stick to my long haired cat and she was
leaving dropings and scared when they stuck to her.
I used to also find litter on my floors from it sticking
to their feet. The crystals cost about $14.00 a bag
and last a month, I buy a bag every month.
I hope this was helpful.
