Plays in the toilet

Hello
There is a 2 year old female long haired tabby (looks like a Maine
Coon) that loves water in general but has picked up a nasty habit of
playing in the toilet water.  The good news is, she only attempts to
play in clean water and does not engage with left over floaters.  Any
time she is caught playing in the toilet, she is stopped and scolded
but this does not appear to have any long term effect.  For the
record, this cat always has a dish of fresh water.  For the last few
months she has been placing 1 to 2 pieces of her dry food into the
water dish.  She also likes to drink water from the faucet.  If you
have a glass of ice water, it won't be yours for long if you don't
watch out.  Obviously, this cat likes water in any form but how do you
train them to stary away from the toilet?  I would appreciate any
advise ASAP.
Thanks and have a great day everybody.

Others have said to close the lid--seems the obvious solution, doesn't
it? Problem solved.  Now, about your water girl:  I think she would love
one of those fountains for her drinking water. Look at some online, or
at your local pet supply store, and see if you don't agree.
