Isis has been with me for almost seven years now. I was just sitting here
doing computer shtuff and she came into the office, opened the door to
closet #2, went inside, stayed about 5 seconds, and then left. She had that
serious "I'm working" look on her face.
For seven years the closet has been there. Nothing has changed. I guess she
just needed to reassure herself that the same closet is the way it always
has been. Next it was up to the desk behind me, a couple of meows, and then
to her box under the 250 watt energy hog lamp I have set up for her.
My psychological problem is that this still makes me crazy. The closet is
there, has been there, and always will be there. There is nothing in there
but a cabinet for some supplies and some shirts I've saved for about 20
years and some computer items. That's it. No dancing girls, no cat parties,
no hyenas, no doorway to the grassy fields of Paradise - it's just a closet.
I just needed to say this and thank you, again, for listening.

Even though there were no dancing girls...
it doesn't hurt to keep looking every once in a while :)

Maybe I'm not thinking straight. Maybe Isis is doing a night watchman thing,
huh? There is zero threat of cat parties, UFO's, or escaped zoo animals but
that's her job - knowing what's what everywhere at all times. To me, it's
like looking in a box every day to see if it's still empty. Ok. Maybe I'll
find a box and start doing that.

Who ever heard of a uncurious cat?
There isn't a square inch in my apartment that
my Big Mama hasn't attempted to explore.
Occassionally she'll go to the closet door, look at it, and asks...
meeooow?
translation: can I have a look in here?

You could do worse than start with your mailbox.
