Hi All,

I thought I would share some photos of an old friend of mine who passed
away in her sleep a couple of weeks ago, her name was Catherine and she'd
been in our shelter at Cats Protection (www.cats.org.uk) for a few months,
having come in as a rather bedraggled stray.

She had hyperthyroidism and successfully survived surgery to remove it a
couple of months ago, but I guess it was her time this time.

I loved her so much, purrs for you, my sweetheart...

So sorry for the lost.  I guess if you could say there was a bright
side to it that it would be that she had a home for her last days and
did not go someplace outside by herself.  She lived in relative
comfort for the last few days of her life.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Bless you for making her last few months more
comfortable.

Sorry, Ivor.  So hard to lose any of them, but it's especially sad when
they have endured a surgery and it turned out not to have helped. They
do know when they are loved, though, and Catherine was fortunate to have
been among the loved.  Lovely lady, too.  Thanks for posting the photos.

My sincere condolences

Thanks to everyone that expressed their sympathy at the loss of my lovely
Catherine, it is very much appreciated.

We have lots of other old ones at the shelter, Billie (14+), Malcolm (16),
Peach (19) and Priscilla (at least 16..!) to name just a few, keep them in
your thoughts over the holiday period :-)

Thanks :-)

Some sad news and some good news, Priscilla died a couple of days ago,
again while at the vet, there was nothing that could be done, it was her
time. However, 19yr old Peach went home yesterday, one of our volunteers
took him (yes, he's a fella, strange name but he doesn't care :-) )

At least they have a warm place for their old bones and love a-plenty
in their lives

Happy Xmas to all of them!

Hi Ivor.  I am in tears as I write.  I love cats more than anything in
the entire world.  Catherine reminds me too much of my Babie who turned
19 this October:

Just remember that Catherine had a good life and knows she was loved.
God bless Catherine.  I will link her page to our cat's site.  Babie's
page links back to it.

Thanks, Jane. I am sure Catherine would have appreciated it :-)

We lost another old girl a couple of weeks ago, her name was Priscilla.
Like Catherine, she came to us as a very bedraggled stray, but she was far
older and I think she just died of old age. I tell myself she was loved in
her last days :-)

We get so many people coming to the shelter looking for kittens, and while
I like everyone love the little creatures, there is something about the
old ones that I just can't resist..!

I am in the process of transferring all my cat photos taken at the shelter
over the years to an online storage facility, when I have finished I will
post the link to the group. But be warned, it's likely to be a long
process, I currently have in excess of 500 photos and I keep taking more
;-)
