His predecessors and companions are in the other album "Exocat's Cats".
Hope you enjoy.

LOL you will upset that beauty > calling him a her ;-) Doh! Sorry, allow me to correct that mistake. He's very cute. Funny how those sexist things get attached to dogs and cats.
FWIW, I have a long black ponytail and one day, my friend's 18-month-old daughter came up to me, stroked my hair and said, "you're beautiful!" I thought about saying, "no, sweetie, men are handsome; women are beautiful." But I just took the compliment and said, "Thank you, sweetie. So are you."

I said "you are such a beautiful little boy." He turned and said "I'm not beautiful, I'm handsome". Very good for two and a half!. MLB

Shazza - 24 Sep 2003 23:34 GMT > LO All > [quoted text clipped - 11 lines] > > Ex. Aw, what cute cats! I noticed a pic of Snowball on a leash in the garden. Can you tell me what kind of collar/leash you use? Visiting the pet store, I was totally perplexed as to what collar/harness/leash to buy. There are so many different collars and an assortment of cat harnesses. Does Snowball wear a collar? Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Glad you like them. I don't like collars 'cos of the extremely nasty damage they can cause (to underarm tissue in particular) if/when they slip. Bandit (b&w) goes out freely during the day but sticks close to home in a small Cornish village where we all know each other so I leave him "au naturel" without too many qualms: he's pretty streetwise.
Pericles (Red Tabby Maine Coon) has a small-dog harness with neck/cheststrap & twin neckstraps which are non-adjustable, just slipping nicely over his head, plus the fully adjustable behind-the-front-legs cheststrap. Like with the elasticated cat-harnesses, though, he can wriggle out of this when/if it gets caught & he has some resistance to pull against. Then he's been known to push off & cause damage & mayhem round the village so I keep a close eye on him.
Snowball's small-dog harness has the same ahead-and-neck plus behind-and-chest arrangement with connectors both centre-top of neck and under-chest between front legs. The neck & chest loops are both fully adjustable so can be fitted perfectly, leaving slack for 2 human fingers, as he grows. He can't seem to get out of this so it might be the ideal arrangement.
I don't have 1 of this type for Peri 'cos he won't stay still long enough for me to adjust any straps! I might try again when the current one wears out. Both he & Snowball now enjoy their walkies around the village & it seems a good compromise between liberty & longevity (my previous much-loved & supposedly streetwise rescue cat was killed on a quiet country lane so I'm not as avid a supporter of free-ranging as I used to be).
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Sorry to read about your previous pet. I had taken in a feral kitten that I named Mysty, and he became an indoor-outdoor cat. We had him for about a year until he just vanished last April. I, too, thought he was a streetwise cat because he always returned at night to sleep in the house, waking up at 6:30 a.m., then going outside to return again indoors for a long afternoon nap. Unfortunately, we didn't get him neutered because he never sprayed and we had no idea that he would just leave and roam so freely. You could call us cat illiterates in a way. We adopted the sibling kittens after several visits to the animal shelter when we inquired about Mysty and left some lost pet fliers. Because of what happened to Mysty (in truth, we have no idea, but we assume he got hit by a car), we are also very cautious about letting the kittens roam outside. The kittens love just resting by the patio screen door, watching the outdoors, and jumping on the bow window sill, then just lying there, looking out of the window.
We had a light shower a few days ago, and I picked up each kitten and held them outside in the rain, just so they could get a feel of raindrops and the outdoors.

Sorry, I forgot the leash: I use a spring-loaded 5-metre (16-foot) extendable dogwalking leash, heavy-duty for Pericles who can pull like a train, which allows them a bit of a run around the garden (yard) etc. and sprints from behind to ahead when out walking. Bit of care needed to avoid entanglements but then that's just part of the fun...
Cheers

I have a 1 year old blue point Ragdoll and I remember once he was 6 months old, he was not much of a kitten anymore. I had to laugh at the Mouser Company's Approved Aerobics Position Number 77 for fitter Felines!. My Symba will be walking across the floor and just fall over on his side into that position and will stay there all day!
