Hello,
There is a four months kitten who come at my door to be feed. I feed
her well but I worry about her because I think she does have a place to
stay. I cannot take her because I already have two cats and I live in a
flat. Do you know if it is possible for a cat to live outside during the
winter when the weather is cold. I live in Ottawa and it can be as cold
as -20C sometimes (usully it is around -10C during the winter). I am
thinking of building a little house for her to protect her from the wind. Do
you know of some web sites where I could find information to build something
nice for a cat.
Thanks,
Richard

If it is a kitten I would recommend that you try to catch it and take
it to a shelter so it has a chance of finding a good home.

Her is some pet beds

a simple dog house can be used if you don't use the heating pad you can
lay straw down to retain warmth for her. You have to make the furball
interested in using the house such as feed the furball out there.
I am not positive what to add to prevent the cold I live in Florida I can
tell you what to added to prevent wind and rain damage
Personally I wish you could adopt the furball -20c ouch
Try these I hope they help

Thanks for your help. I guess winter is too cold over her for stray cats. I
will certainly try to find a home for her. I have brought another stray
kitten to the Humane Society two months ago because they have a no kill
policy. However, I felt bad when I too the cat to such place because I never
know who will end up with the cat. Will they be nice people? Also, I wonder
about that no kill policy. Is it always valid? I hope to find some nice
people around me who will adopt that nice cat.
Thanks,
Richard

Hi, Richard.
I believe that adoption agencies do make an effort to insure that the new
owners are caring, thoughtful people. I had to answer some questions about
how I would handle situations before the local shelter would let me adopt
Isis. You do have to pass some criteria. You can always call them up and ask
how they handle the adoption policy to reassure yourself.

Hi Richard,
Seeing as you live in the Ottawa area - you should know that temperature
here can get a lot colder than -20C!
Why don't you contact the people here? http://www.foap.on.ca/
They are a great organization!

Hello Judy,
I rarely see temperature colder than -20C, especially now with the
warming of the climate but it may happen sometimes. I did contact the foap
organisation. They don't have any space for more cats.
Thanks,
Richard
