Can anyone provide any information on what breed of cat (if any) is best if
one wishes to take them along for vacation in a car?  I heard perhaps a Manx
or a Ragdoll, but was looking for some confirmation...  I have a vacation
property about 2 hours away from my home and would really want to have a cat
that could be trained to adjust to the trip in the car..

Any insight would be appreciated.....

First  cats can't be trained  they choose to do what they want.  And there
is no breed that does what you are asking.  It is up to the cat itself the
personality is the key.  When the cat is young is the way to get used to
being in a car

I agree that getting your kitty used to riding early on is the answer...good
luck...

I would generally agree with the other posters who said that it's best
to train
them to get used to automobile travel when they are young.
However, I did have a adult female Ragdoll that had only limited
experience
in a car, but took to it quite well.
I took her on a long trip once in a pickup truck. I had stuff behind
the seat and a
blanket on top. She would sit on the blanket right behind my shoulder
and look out
the windows for hundreds of miles at a time.
She would cry to me when she "had to go".
I would pull over the side of the road, open the passenger door.....she
would
jump out, sniff around a bit, then do her business. Then I'd tell her
to jump back
in the car, and she would jump back in and off we'd go again.
All together, this was a 4,000 mile trip with a 2 month lay-over at a
motel.
At the motel, she would go outside and roam around, and even make
friends with
some of the other guests as she was very friendly.
They would invite her in for a snack and then let her out again!
Damn smart cat.....but definietly an exception to the rule.

Ahah...another true Road Warrior.  My Zildjian & Luthien travelled
with me across the continent (North America) five times, from
coast to coast, pretty much.
