Hey Guys
We have adopted a pair of cats from Cat Protection, Pippin and Bramley
2 months ago.
Pippin from day 1 has been a more adventurous cat who is fine with
human contact and after 3 weeks has been outside and with no problems.
It took ppor Bramley 4 weeks to even venture from underneath the sofa,
he is now more comfortable in the house, following advice we took from
the forum.
He has started to follow his brother outside. They both come back to
the house at foodtime and stay in at night.
My question is- how do we intiate contact with Bramley, he's absolutely
petrified of anything human and won't let us near him. Do you have any
tricks?
Thanks
Tom

I had a problem once with a cat from a refuge the problem being he should
not have been re-housed and had no contact with people before. Obviously
this is not relevant regarding Bramley as he is going out and coming home.
I would just give Bramley a lot of time to get to know his new home and
owners (I often think its the other way round) and he will be OK. Cats can
be very much like people some are friendly or nervous for whatever reason, I
have a tom that is very nervous around people and will run if I bang the
window from outside. I have had him since he was a kitten.

Do you try to play with him? Use dangling feathers, ribbons, etc. MLB

Yes we do. We have a fishing rod toy, scrunched up balls etc. He
doesn't seem at all interested...
