Food Bowl Empty - I Must Pay

I often fail to check Isis' food bowl several times a day the way I should
and thus it is sometimes empty for up to a full hour. If I fill that bowl up
to the brim then she hogs out and I end up cleaning up little kitty puke
messes so I have to allocate the food.

She has two main techniques to point out my failures. One is this deal where
I walk into the kitchen and she either puts her paw on my foot whiile I am
walking or swats me on the leg. The other, more direct approach, is where
she walks over by me and makes a gnarly angry meoooow sound while looking
ugly, ornery, and downright mean.

I own up to my failure and apologize and get right to the bag o' food. I was
just wondering what kinds of techniques your cats use to point out to you
that you need to get off yer butts and either open a can of food or get the
bag out of the pantry.

zip zooms through the house (not to be confused with poop zooms, which occur
just before going to use the litterbox).  Especially at night when we are
sleeping and the dish goes "dry".

sitting at the entry to the kitchen in a pack, also is a good indicator, or
all three of them just following us around for a while....

Deetoo is a little different after using the litter box. All of a sudden,
she's full of energy.

TuTu usually uses a gentle method.  She sits about two feet away and looks
at me intently.  Then she makes an almost silent pathetic little mew.   I
can tell how starved she feels by looking at her 15-plus pounds.  Fatties
get hungry too.  MLB

You mean we're allowed to let the food bowl get empty??   I had no idea!
Methinks Her Majesty is perhaps too lenient with you.  ;)

It's just a case of neglect on my part. I get tied up with client calls and
house chores and other activities and I plain flat out fail to watch that
bowl. I am a pathetic excuse for an owner and deserve bad things. I'm
grateful she allows me to scratch her ears every day. <-:

A worthy job of groveling.  I'm sure she's happy enough to remind you
about the food bowl just to feel the love (and the ear scratching).

That's a scary thought. Reminds me of a Bugs Bunny cartoon where the wolf
sees a mental picture of Daffy Duck all dressed up and bubbling away in a
pot on the fire.

My one cat Lou Lou has no appetite in the morning she just wants to get out.
My Tom Cat Diego will come into the bedroom and jump of the headboard and
land on my head.  He will climb onto dressing tables and knock ever item off
including the lamp and clock.  While all this is going on he makes an
agitated sound that I cannot do justice to by explaining.

That sounds brutal alright. I suppose if you feel you HAVE to sleep instead
of taking care of Diego's breakfast . . .

Diego has no official time system in place, he will start this anytime he
wants to and then there is the other side of him where he will come in and
climb under the quilt and go to sleep.
