Hi. I was wondering if I move the litterbox will it confuse my cat? Will she still go in the old place the litterbox was? In this case, I've moved it only a few feet, in a more convenient place in the room. I've shown her where it is and she has scratched around a bit in it, but hasn't used it. So should I worry about her doing her business on the floor? We've never had a problem like that with her but I'm still concerned. Hopefully she'll adjust alright because it really was only a few feet. :) Any tips are appreciated!! Hi Lucy It should be fine!.....providing the litterbox has not been moved into a "high traffic" part of the room of course. Cats can become anxious if there is a lot of traffic around them when they are trying to use the box. But if it's the same box, in the same room, there should be no problem. Cheers ~Roberta~ > Hi. When they go to toilet outside they will look for a different place anyway. Only when kittens have I ever had slight problems but the cats I have now always go to toilet outside and never use the litter tray, I had a cat that would only use the litter tray and would use it the moment he came inside after being outside for a while. Whenever I have had to move a litter box for whatever reason I have always left the original where it was until the cat get used to using the one in the new location or you may end up with the cat using someplace other then the liter box. My Winston is quite old and I would like to move the litter box closer to where he spends most of the day. The box in now in the basement and the only time he is down there is to use the box. I usually have been able to move litterboxes with no problems, usually to another room. However, Duffy had other ideas. When I moved his box (but, again to another room), he proceeded to urinate in the same spot where his box used to stand. He is blind, but he can easily find *anything* in the house. In fact, he then used both that spot and the new location of the litterbox. I placed an object over that spot, so he used a spot as close to it as possible! Well, Duffy won! I moved the box back to that spot and have had no problems every since. For whatever reason, it was important to him to use that location. (He is pure delight, and this is the only thing he "insists" on, so I am more than willing to let him have "his" preference.) So, you might want to move the box but keep a close eye on things for awhile.
