My 5 month old kitten has fleas i took her to the vet and she gave me
medication for her and a flea coller she also told me to bomb our apartment
which we did on Saturday. My son and i have gotten bitten up so bad that we
left our apartment for 3 days until i could get in there to clean it and bomb
it. its now monday and we are still getting bit up like no other i have bites
all up and down my legs arms stomach everywhere and so does my 21month old
son does anyone have some ideas on how to get rid of these things we love our
kitten and dont want to get rid of her.

What type of medication did the vet give you?

Take the flea collar  off they don't  work  they can get hung up and choke
Go get some advantage for the kitten    make sure you treat all the animals
in the house

A old home remedy  I heard of   take a bowl of water  put it underneath   a
night light with the room that has the  worse problems with fleas  in the
morning  you will have a lot of fleas in it DEAD

When you bomb the house  you can have anything that where the fleas can hid
such as bundles of clothes on the floor or bed

You have to wash everything that has a problems with fleas   A professional
treatment may be required for the house

I know it is a horrid thought, but could it also be bedbugs?  I read a
news report recently that hotels and public places are having a bad time
with the bugs.  You might find the story on the inter net.   Whatever it
is, purrs that you solve the problem soon.   MLB

I live in the UK and use a treatment from the vet for my cat's called
"frontline" but the vet has more expensive treatments one of which is a
spray.  You do not spray directly to the cat but on a small paper towel and
then apply to kitten, you will see the fleas drop off.  Also there should be
a spray that the vet will sell you that you can spray your apartment with
but the kitten must be kept out of the way while you do this I only ever had
to do this once.  Change regular the kittens bedding  and in my case I have
had too add disinfectant to the bath water.  The fleas will not be so bad as
the kitten gets older it is something they all go through.

Also in the UK and an alternative (I won't say better) to Frontline is
Stronghold. As well as fleas this also kills roundworm (but not tapeworm)
and a few other parasites as well. It's what we use as a matter of course
at our local Cats Protection rescue shelter.

Another thing I would do is after vacuuming is to replace the vacuum
bag EVERY TIME and dispose of it OUTSIDE with the fleas in it that you
vacuumed up.

Now I have never tried this but I was talking to a farmer earlier and he
told me that when he puts his sheep through the sheep dip, the farmyard dog
and cat get a splash as well.  I live in the UK maybe its called something
else in other parts.
