Coat the power cords with sulphuric acid, or, alternatively, strip the
insulating material from them. That'll make the little f.cker stop.
Permanently.

Problem solved. Next project - work on your grammar and spelling. You sound
like a moron.

There are several products you can buy at the local pet store that you can
use to stop them

As Matthew said, there are some products that can be used to coat the cords.
They are designed to be have an unpleasant taste and thus deter the cat (or
dog) from chewing on cords.  These are products made specifically made for
this purpose and will not harm the cat.  I believe one is called Bitter
Apple.

In addition, there are some tubes that are made specifically to hide cords.
Many people use them to hide computer cords, and some are small enough for a
single cord.  Although they are intended for aesthetics, they should also
help with your problem.

Spray the power cords with fly spray or apply vinegar, incidentally fly
spray is good for removing oil from carpets.

What I meant was  pay more attention to the products  something that is
obvious poison is not an intelligent choice

It will not hurt a cat it is the scent that puts them off.

Bug repellent is poisonous  some cats don't have the greatest sniffers  I
know some cats that love the smell of bleach.  I an animal chews the cord
with bug repellent on it  it can cause serious  issues

Instead of fly spray or bug repellent, try tobasco sauce.

Instead of focussing on deterrents, I would try shaping the chewing
behaviour.

How about some tasty - coated toys that gets the cat positive feedback when
it chews. Only have cords accessible when you are around. Make
cat-objectional noises when it chews on a cord. Gradually you will win.

PS, don't try spraying your cat with a water pistol while it's chewing
cords, you might both get in trouble....
