As part of a $500+ Companion of Science Diet c/d.  Apparently Entropy
needs to be on this for the rest of her life (urinary syndrome).

Is there a reasonably priced alternative?

Not all cats require Rx food to maintain a healthy urinary track after
having crystal issues. What is important is that they eat good quality
canned food, avoid stuff made with by-products. Our Xoxo had an episode
of struvite crystals a few years back, at the time we used to feed them
kibble. After doing some research, I switched them all to canned food
with kibble available for snacking (Innova Evo, the only kibble I've
found made without any grains). He hasn't had any issues since.

Did your kitty always like canned food or did he have to become accustomed
to it? The reason I ask is that my Deetoo will only eat IAMS kibble and
nothing else. I've tried all sorts of canned food, special cat treats, etc.
Not that it's currently a problem, just hoping that sometime in the future I
don't have to switch to something else.

The only downside is that on special days like her birthday or when I feel
like doing something extra for her, I can't get her to eat anything else.
She occasionally goes for a little mozzarella cheese or carrot muffin, but I
wouldn't call those cat treats by any stretch of the imagination.

I've tried chicken, tuna, shrimp, cream, ice cream. ~ Nadda to all of it.
How can you spoil a cat that doesn't like anything?

Makes me think of the cat I had some twenty years ago. He'd eat anything and
he'd drink beer too. Whenever I popped a can of beer or a bottle, he'd be
right there yowling for some.

He loved it. At the time we used to give them canned food once a month,
we'd mix Advantage in it. One of our other cats loves kibble. He will
eat a mouthful or two of canned food and then wait for the kibble to be
replenished. All cats are different. :)

Hehehehe.... she sounds like the opposite of my Luna. She's a little
piggie that will eat anything. Even broccoli.
Our cats prefer food that is chunks in gravy, so they eat mostly Nutro
Gourmet cans. They don't like pasty food much, so they won't eat the
really good stuff like Innova or Felidae. :(
