I noticed a few thing about my cat recently. When she runs and wants to
change direction, when she's up to speed, she doesn't change direction with
her front paws, she speeds up the rear paws so they angle off in one
direction or another until she's facing the direction she wants to go. It's
funny as hell watching her rear end angle which direction she wants to go.
Also noticed something else. When she's chasing the red dot on the laser pen
I have, I've always heard a clicking noise coming from her. I used to think
that it was her claws clacking on my hardwood floors. Anyway, after I
trimmed her nails one day, I got out the laser pen to play chase the red dot
and I heard the clicking noise again. I started to really wonder what it was
because it wasn't her freshly trimmed claws. Watched her a little more, I
realized she was gnashing her teeth in anticipation of catching that red
dot.

Wow, it sounds like your cat is quite ambitious, there! Mine also can
be funny, as she can get a firm grip on the carpet quickly, but her
large body can't always keep up with such sudden movements.
