We sort of suspected this.

A month or so ...after our old Whitecat died...

a friend came over with a kitty that he said he found on our porch...

He now admitted that he actually brought it over!

We thought that was the case...and it was a real nice thing he did.

Cocopuff is still pretty wild...but she is nipping at us a lot less and is a
very well behaved...wild brat <G>

It is a bit strange going from an 18 year old cat...to a brand new kitty ...

She weighs four pounds now...but is a ton and a half of fun!!!

My favorite thing is when she jumps up and has all 4 paws off the
ground...spread out like a bat (without the wings)

My daughter wants me to send her a picture of that...

Getting a shot of lightning is a lot easier though...so I don't think that's
a picture I'll be able to get !

My 14 month old Deetoo is a hefty 13 pounds, but I laugh my head off as she
does a three foot reverse backflip from a standing position when she goes
around a corner or something and suddenly comes upon a dust bunny or a ball
of fur.

I think the most amazing thing I saw was a cat I had many years ago...

After much looking, wiggling and calculating...

jumped to the top of the refrigerator !!!!

A leap of approx 6 feet!   Her front paws made it to the top of the 'fridge
and she just pulled herself up the rest of the way.

There was either nothing interesting on top of the 'fridge...or she did not
like the jump down...

but she only did it that one time!

A fit, healthy adult cat can jump around 5 times their own height. Even my
12yr old Missy, who is way overweight (!) can jump up onto tabletops and
chairs with little or no effort.

A table top should be no problem,,,
but the the 'fridge was quite amazing...
I doubt if a kangaroo could even jump that high

Can't say my cat ever jumped that high, but before she got big, she was able
to jump a good 10 feet right across my living room. I'd be sitting there
watching TV and near the top of my viewing angle, I'd see cat soaring
through the air like a flying squirrel, landing on top of my entertainment
centre.

The funniest thing I ever saw was when she attacked my 4 foot high stuffed
panda bear toy I won at a fair. I heard a thump in my living room and went
out to investigate. The panda bear was laying face down on the floor with my
Deetoo busy embedding her nails into its back. Now they're best friends.
Deetoo can often be found curled up on its lap.

You ever notice how strong their back legs are? I've only been caught once
in the tummy rub front claw grab rear claw flesh ripper death grip. Isis'
rear legs don't seem to have that many muscles but she sure has power in
'em.

I experience those muscles at least once a month when I trim my cats claws.
My only recourse is to wrap her up in a large towel and try to extract one
paw at a time for claw trimming. It's a real wrestling match. I usually get
that shrill whining that I better back off, but when it's all over, within
two minutes she's ready to nuzzle as she was before.

Some think that it's cruel to trim a cat's claws, but my cat is an indoor
one and as long as it's done properly, they don't experience any pain with
the only result being that they suffer a little indignity. As well, I
experience a lot less pain when my cat hoists herself up on one of my knees
to see what I'm doing.

"flesh ripper death grip"

the dumbest thing i did...back when i was 20 years old or so...
was to teach my 22pound tom cat to climb up my pants leg...by scratching and
coaxing.

one day i walked into the room sort of absent-mindedly scratching my ear...

the cat ran up my leg and vest and gave me a good swat in the head!!!!!

ROFL....that's funny....may not had been funny at the time though.

My cat thinks I'm some sort of street-car. I use a wheelchair and whenever
I'm rolling by, she hops on my feet and rides along until she gets to where
she wants to go. Used to be she'd climb up the back of my wheelchair, claw
her way up my back over my shoulder and plop on my lap. Once I started being
ready with the spray bottle, she opted to go the feet ride along instead.

Well thanks to getting squirtguns...
Cocopuff has learned fast.

Don't know if I mentioned it before or not...
but one morning at 4am I was awakened because my girlfriend...
had missed the kitty and squirted me right in the face!!!!

it was waaay to funny to get upset about!

It was not funny then,,,but at least I knew that I had no one to blame but
myself...

35 years later...it's funny though!!!
