Awl--
My SIL is claiming our cats gave her mono.
Further, she sez that her doc sez it's feline mono, different from human
mono.
Sounds like crap to me. As far I know, the only real issues concerning
dogs/cats is distemper, feline AIDS, rabies, and toxoplasmosis for pregnant
women.
Never heard of mono, either for a cat itself having it, or acting as a
carrier. Anyone else??
Needless to say, no one else has mono--and that's 5 people. This one sister
is a borderline hypochondriac anyway, but I'm curious as to even a remote
possibility of this.

Try a different doctor. My understanding is Toxoplasmosis is often
misdiagnosed as Mononucleosis.

You can't rule it out, but then again she could have caught it from any cat
faeces, especially if she has toddlers - they are great mono vectors....
Let's just say she won't be seeing you in court without a lot more evidence
than she's likely to be able to find!!!

Oops, I took the toxoplasmosis cue...
Looks like if the pathology indicates mono, you need to be scratched, or
come into contact with its saliva.... Different route.
