I have a male cat named Chip, that is the most affectionate,
cuddly, fluffy little guy you'd ever want to meet. Except
for when another cat is nearby, outside the window or door.
When another cat invades his "territory", he goes berserk.
Normally this displaced aggression is not that serious, but
occasionally it is. In that case, I get the water pistol
and squirt him, until he runs up stairs, to cool off!
I noticed that a neighborhood cat has been hanging out
behind a 15 foot hedgerow in the front of my house.
Would could I place behind the hedge to keep the cat
away from my hedge? Would it help if I took some of
my cat's hair and placed it behind the hedge? Is there
something commercial available?
-Thanks

I suggest you have Chip put down immediately. It's the only way.

Obviously, Chip has serious problems, which can only be cured by having him
put down.

Next time, fill the water pistol with battery acid. Believe me, that'll cure
the little bugger.

A dog. Rottweiler, for instance. Particularly one that's already eaten Chip,
so that he's got a taste for cat.

I like it. You're not taking the idea far enough, though. You should
actually skin Chip, and pin it up on a cane frame. The ultimate deterrant.

Yes. The Kat Assassination Squad. Number's in the book.

There are repellents made for spraying on your trees, etc. to keep cats away.
Not sure where they are, perhaps Walmart, etc.; you can also check pet stores.
Don't know if this is true or not, but I've read that if you put some of your
cat's stool outside in the area that the cat is hanging around, it will stay
away from that area.

You need to let your cat scent his territory properly, he is justifiably
upset.....
