My friends cat got his leg broken. The dad is on partial disabililty and
can't afford the bill, but called a vet's office for help to make
payments. This office told him they won't help the cat if he doesn't pay
immediately! They told him to kill the cat. When he repeated it back to
this person, she said just use a hammer in the head!! Does anyone know who
you can call for help in reporting a vet's office in this kind of
practice? Thankfully, he did find a loving office for his cat, but the
anger and hurt is too much. Does anyone know who the office/vet can be
reported?

Assuming that you're in the us, try your local Better Business Bureau.

If you ARE in the US, file a complaint with the State Department of
business regulation.  If they get a few of these, the business license
will be taken away.  MLB

I'd start with the ASPCA.  Some states have strong laws on stuff like
this.

I like it. The two of them could make a good living in the kid's party
business - "The Crippled Dad & His Crippled Cat", or whatever. Yes. They
could do impersonations of Long John Silver (the Dad) with the cat sitting
on his shoulder playing the part of the parrot ("Ha-haaarrr! Pieces of
eight! Shiver me timbers", etc etc etc).

I agree wholeheartedly with the vet's office. If it were *my* office, I'd
instruct the staff to tell cat-owners to put the little bastards down if
they can't pay up. If they taped it on video, mind you, I'd pay them.

Ah. Good. Very good. These people are talking my kind of language.
Personally, I'd suggest something a bit more "fun", even though a hammer in
the head is good. Like chopping its legs off, or swinging it round the room
by the tail and banging its head against the furniture. You've simply got to
use your imagination.

There's always the 'Telephone Emergency Hotline' which people can use who
find it very difficult to use telephones (especially in dialling numbers) -
just call 07922-5585-4487 for details. If you're held in a queue, I find
time passes more quickly if you stick the occasional pin in your carefully
wrapped-up 'n' helpless cat.

I wouldn't bother, because if you do, people would only laugh once they
heard the funny story.

Does anyone other than himself think this troll is funny.  Kerplonk.

There will be a regulatory body that deals with Veterinarians. I don't know
who that is in the US, but you should be able to find it.

Just post the address and phone number of the "vet" (if there really is
one).
I'm sure it'll get taken care of
