Does he walk into things? If he never did but does now, then maybe. Does
he jump at loud noises or come when called?
If he used to come when called and loud noises scared him, but that no
longer happens, then maybe.
DH had a cat who was deaf. The cat would actually fall asleep to the floor
or furniture vibrations of DH very, VERY loud music.

My neighbor had a blind cat.
It would on occasion walk into things.
He would sometimes take double steps to first
feel what he was walking on then take the step.
You could tell how he really used his whiskers
when walking near/around objects.
Even for a blind cat, he got around, just a lot slower.
He could even find his food/water bowl by himself.
He didn't trust strangers petting him though, only his owner.
The other outside male cats seemed to know he didn't
present a threat to them, so they would leave
him alone.

What did the Vet tell you? IMHO he needs much more time to recover from
the accident and surgery . Purrs for your kitty's wellbeing.
