How come cats take their favorite toys and put them in their cat food?
Mine does this when she is not playing with it.

Like a beer ad said a few years back, "Why ask why?"  :-)

Speaking of toys, my cat just invented one, sort of. Pyrex makes these
little glass serving bowls, like you might serve jello in.

Yesterday, I put some cat treats in one of these bowls and put it on the
kitchen floor. She gave the bowl a push and found that it slid around
nicely, and made a great sound. Not only that, but it distorts whatever she
sees behind it. She gave it a bigger push and it went all the way across the
room. The hockey game lasted almost two hours, with brief intermissions for
grooming and eating. It began again around 4:00 AM this morning.

Who needs cat toys? They're all over the house to begin with.

Could be worse, your cat might start playing with the food. My cat takes her
kibble out of her dinner tray and bats it all over the floor before she
decides to eat it. Unfortunately, I regularly find cat kibble all over the
floor because she hasn't eaten it all.

Perhaps she is treating it as a prey item; both playing with it and relating
it to food?
