I did take my cat to the vet, a very good vet. I spent $300 on her to find
out the problem the UTI wasn't positive. My baby isn't the problem it is my
cat pissing all over my livingroom. I love my cat she is my first daughter.
I would have her put to sleep because I don't think that she can live with
another family and most importantly I don't want her pissing in their house.
So why don't you give better advice instead of trying to humiliate people
with your ignorant comments.

A simple urine test is not $300. Neither is a check up. You must have had
some extensive testing done.
>cat pissing all over my livingroom. I love my cat she is my first daughter.

You don't know that she can't live with someone else; you'd be surprised at
how well animals can learn to adapt to new people and surroundings if they
have to. It is egotistical to think that your cat can only live with you;
I'm sure she can live without you if she has to. She may not urinate in the
new owner's house if you choose someone who does not have a noisy, stressful
household. If the behaviour is due to the new cat you got 5 months ago,
you've had Squeaker much longer, perhaps you should consider finding a new
home for him instead of her.
>So why don't you give better advice instead of trying to humiliate people

If you go into a group of cat lovers and say "I really don't want to have her
euthanized but I am at my wit's end" you can expect people to be upset with
you. Most people here would never euthanize their cat for a
urinationa/behavioural problem. You say "I love my cat, she is my first
daughter"; if that is the way you truly feel, you would never even consider
killing her. You need to look at other options.

I should add too, a friend of mine recently had a baby (her first) and one of
her two cats started pooping on the floors instead of in the box. She gave
him more attention and eventually he started going in the box again. Yes, it
was hard to at first to give the cats extra attention due to the new baby but
her and her husband love their cats very much and wanted to make it work.
There was absolutely no discussion of euthanization, that is something that
would never have even entered their minds.
What a load of b@llshit.
Spent 300 my a@@ so your vet did not find a problem ok either a bad vet or
bull sh@t. well did the vet tell you things that you could do such as go to
behavioralist or tell you what type of remedies you could do. Or are you
just talking out your a@@ because you realize that no one here would put up
with someone like you that threatens to put animal to sleep because of
problems that they have obviously caused

Again with the most IGNORANT response about killing that cat due to a
problem that your situation has caused.
You must be a very ignorant person not to even realize that what stress is
caused by a newborn on all family members
I did give you good advice if you would have read the rest of the message
and used some intelligence but we can tell how you are just from your
original post and a response. Not trying to humiliate you that would come
from your post and reply.
AGAIN in case your are an idiot. -> Take your cat to a foster family or a
vet that knows how to deal with behavioral problems if your other vet did
not do what needed to be done.
IMO Don't have any more animals or children. you have to much on your
plate as it is and unfortunately the cat is suffering for it hopefully the
child won't suffer because your lack of common sense.
And we can only hope your child is more intelligent and insightful and a
better caring animal lover than you

I don't know why you have to be so rude. The vet did find that her organs
were overfunctioning causing her to loose weight. I asked him about the
urinatinig and he said usually they will go to the bathroom outside their
litterbox whenever the litterbox is in the same room as their food. But her
litterbox is on the otherside of the house so I don't know why. I spend as
much time as I possibly can with her. And for the record I am not ignorant.
I have a genuine proplem with my cat and I can't figure out whats wrong with
her and it scares me to think that I might have to get rid of her. I just
really would like to know what to do about it because she has been with me
since the summer after I was in the 6th grade, July 2, 1999.

Why was I being so rude
This is the actual first intelligent post talking about your cat that you
have done the other 2 you talk about killing your cat because of a problem.
That will put anyone that is an animal lover into automatic defense mode.
That is why I was being so "rude" now if you would have posted something
like this post before you would have gotten a lot better response from quite
a few of us. If your cat is still having a problem an animal bevioralist
visit is needed and or a new vet.
Did your vet give a reason why your cat organs are over functioning and or
what type of treatment was prescribed
Your vet is half right some cats are that way. If your cat box is on the
other side of the house you may have to add some more boxes in various
locations some cats like to use different boxes. or you are not keeping the
box clean enough or there is a problem at the box location cans like to
feel safe and comfortable
Second you described alot of stress moving twice , a new baby. Now matter
what you think a baby can cause serious stress in a household and a cat can
pick up on that and react to it just like a human will. Plus being moved
twice, new noise in the house more traffic it can freak an animal out.
There is a lot here and if your vet could not help you out than either
schedule to a new vet and or a animal behaviorist is necessary.
Now if you have any questions you can ask now that you understand our side

You were "being so rude" because you are ALWAYS RUDE, Matthew!
You are so quick to react and judge people.
It makes we wonder how you can possibly call yourself a cat person.

>The vet did find that her organs were overfunctioning causing her to loose weight.
If you can advise what the vet meant by this there would be people here
willing to help. There are people on here who have cats that have kidney
problems, diabetes, etc. but we need to know specifics.
Squeakerslover7 - 24 Apr 2006 00:18 GMT
He said that her kidneys were overfunctioning and I give her some feline k/d
food.

Here are some excellent sites for renal disease in cats. At 7 years old,
that is quite young to be diagnosed with renal disease, perhaps it could be
polycystic kidney disease - that affects younger cats, especially persians.
