Hi guys, I've have a grey and white kitten and looking for an orange
and white tabby.  I've been looking on craigslist and recycler.
However, when I do find one, it turns out that someone has already
taken it.  I was wondering if anyone knew someone or is giving away an
orange and white tabby.  Thanks.

Just curious  -- why do you need specific colors?  MLB
tchu512@yahoo.com - 28 Mar 2006 07:19 GMT
It's for my gf.  She used to have an orange and white one a long time
ago but it died of old age.

Suggestion:  Take girl friend to the Humane Society and let her pick out
one that responds to her  --  instant love.   MLB

Maybe to match the furntiture/rug?
edie humperdink - 28 Mar 2006 18:42 GMT
to match his tie and sweater
tchu512@yahoo.com - 28 Mar 2006 20:04 GMT
No! It's not to match the rug, furniture, tie or sweater.  You guys are
lame, so quick to criticize.  Dr. Woodard and edie humperdink, are you
guys blind or illiterate?  I already said that my girlfriend wanted it
because her orange and white cat died when she was young so now she
wants one of similar colors.  Is that so hard to understand?  And yes,
I checked the animal shelter.  For some reason, they only have all
black ones.

I can understand your gf wanting one that is similar to her childhood pet;
lots of people do.  But what you could do is just suggest going to the
shelter together to have a look-see; you never know, she might fall in love
with one of the black ones.  The reason I'm suggesting this is because black
ones have a really hard time finding homes.  There's so common, that's why
there are so many in shelters (and usually one of the first to be put down
due to this fact).  Just a suggestion.

Have your gf go to the shelter and let a cat find her, she should
realize a cat that looks your old cat WILL NOT AND NEVER WILL BE
your old cat.  Every cat is unique, this new cat while it may look
like an old cat you had will never ever be that same cat.  It's not
fair to the cat to expect that.

Honor your old child hood companion by going down to the animal
shelter and let one of the cats find you.

Now that I have a black cat (a first for me), I think that everyone should
own a black cat as their very first one.  Black cats reduce the feline
overload of characteristics.  One starts to really appreciate the eyes of
the cat; the physical body shape is also accented by a single color coat.
My Nero (5 years old) is a bundle of joy to me daily.  I can't imagine life
without him.  He has become the favored of my current three kitts.

PS--I am over 60 and have had a cat(s) for more than 40 of those years.

The main disadvantage of a black cat is the black hair is makes black
spots all over the rug and furniture.  That's why I suggested getting a
cat that matches your tie and sweater, and your carpet.  Then the cat's
hair blends into the background and company won't see right away that
you are a poor housekeeper.

Thanks guys for the feedback.  I took my gf to the local humane society
and she picked one out that she really liked.  It was coincidental that
they just happened to recieve an orange and white kitten the day before
my gf and I got there.  Anyways, we adopted the kitten and the kitten
seems to like us very much.  Just a question by the way, is the
intestine worms in cats a huge problem for you guys.  I havent checked
yet but just wanted to know if everyone else got their cats dewormed.
Thank you.
edie humperdink - 02 Apr 2006 06:03 GMT
be careful -- you might wind up with worms in your own intestines.

Usually a shelter will deworm and vaccinate a kitten before you adopt it;
please call them and ask them if they did so.  It should say somewhere on
your paperwork also.

IMHO  She (not you) should visit the cats at the animal shelter.  She may
(I said may) bond with a different colored cat.  In fact, if the cat
chooses her (by its actions) she may find a more loving companion.
Everyone loves kittens, but an older cat can be a good companion too.
Consider all options.  Good luck.   MLB

This was your original post:

Where does it say anything about an orange and white cat?

Also around here a number of people have been nailed for illegal
activiities on Craigs list.  The cops made some arrests in connection
prostitution activity on Craigs list.  Also there have been other
arrests for other activities.

Have you tried your local shelters?

They probably have a few already.
