Help! We have a 2-year-old spayed female adopted at about 4 months having
been a feral kitten. She won't let us pick her up etc. and had a very
established routine. Then we acquired a 4-month-old male, now neutered,
who loves people, will be a lab kitty etc. We kept them appart for 2
weeks, did all the things the vet said, then slowly introduced them. After
a couple of days of caution, new kitty began to chase old kitty out of any
room, biting her on the back if she didn't leave. We are now quite
attached to both. We have tried a lot of things. Suggestions, PLEASE!
Thank you ,  Darcy and Will

New one is still a kitten who will like to play *a lot*; looks like he likes
to play rough though.  It is still early for the both of them; perhaps your
old kitty will start to play with him over time.  You're going to have to
show your kitten that it's wrong to hurt her though if he's getting too rough.
Perhaps a little squirt of water if you catch him in the act.  If she doesn't
want anything to do with him, you'll have to play with him to tire him out.
Once he gets a bit older and also after he get neutured, he may calm down a
bit.

let the new kitty be the boss.  Who wants a feral cat you cant even pick up?
maybe they will learn eachother

what happens if you let them fight it out?  one will establish as the
alpha dog, and she will be boss, fighting stops

The resident animal should always get the most attention, she was there first
and they've had her for almost 2 years.  As for "who wants a feral cat you
cant even pick up", lots of people do.  It's very rewarding to save a feral
cat.  A lot of non-feral kittens end up not becoming lap cats either when
they grow up.  Only one of my three is a lap cat and none of them were ferals.

Could she have meant "lap" kitty?

my cat is a "head" kitty.  when I lie on the sofa, she likes to sit
near my head and massage my scalp.
