unless there is a infection in the toes, a broken toe or a hang nail no it
would not vet would determine this
YOUR CAT NEEDS TO GO TO HE VET TO RULE OUT MEDICAL PROBLEMS BEFORE
BEHAVIORALLY PROBLEMS CAN BE CORRECTED
Now before you read the rest of my post I am going to ask a couple questions
myself.
When did you get the cat declawed? If it was recent and this problem arose
go to another vet ASAP.
Is the cat having problems going to the bathroom such as constipation or
crying in pain?
How long has the cat been doing this?
How many other cats or animals do you have if any?
Now that you have answered these and taken the cat to the vet to rule out
medical problems read below
There could be a couple reason for the bathroom problem
1 you are not providing a clean enough box for her or not enough boxes for
her some cats like to poop in one, pee in another.
2 the area the she keeps going to has not been cleaned properly. animals
have keen senses of smell and are creature of habits.
3 she could have an infection of the urinary tract or kidney stones which
can cause this problem.
4 there is new stress in the house that is causing the problem
5 the type of litter could be causing a problem
6 the placement of the litter box
7 the food you are feeding can be the problem
8 there could be other medical reasons causing this depending on the age of
the cat, the temperament, and the socialization of the cat

Here is a site that provides links discussing litter box behaviours:
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/9352/litterboxhelp.html
There's a lot of information, but I recommend reading as much as possible
since there are many reasons why a cat would go to the bathroom outside of
the litter box. The most important thing is to take the cat to the vet to
rule out any medical problems.
Hope this helps!
