This is a PETA website.  Do you have anything by a credible news source?
I haven't much faith in anything PETA says since they dumped dead dogs
and cats in dumpsters in my home state.  The dogs and cats were
perfectly healthy and turned over by a vet to be adopted.  They
illegally killed and dumped them.  They were charged with 31 felonies.
They really care nothing for animals.  They are just a fund raising
front.

When it comes to complaints about Iams and the things they are accused of
doing, I haven't seen a credible news source.

Do you have a credible news source when it comes to PETA dumping dead cats
and dogs in your home state?

Just curious.

That made national headlines  Peta members were adopting animals and going
around the corner and putting them to sleep then dumping them in the
garbage.  they said they were better off

National headlines doesn't actually mean credible.

The third estate is more than often a marketing tool.

Is there a verifiable source for this?

PETA are a group of animal whacktavists that aren't to be taken seriously.

Hmmm, my response didn't show up.  OK here goes again.

Thanks for that link, I wasn't aware of that.  My post wasn't in favor
of PETA, it was more against commercial cat food.  I would say
ultimately trust neither of these big companies.  Their primary concern
is survival.  They survive by making large profits.  Wherever there are
profits, corruption is close behind.

Trust only yourself when it comes to the welfare of your pet.  None of
these companies actually cares about your pet.  Perhaps some in the
company do care, but their primary concern is their job and livelihood.
They can excuse the crimes of their company by self deception and
denial.  It is up to you to make a caring and informed choice as their
guardian.

I would suggest creating a homemade diet based on what these creatures
would eat in a wild natural environment.  By feeding them yourself you
will know what is actually going into their diet and can adjust it
depending on how they react to it.  With commercial food you don't know
what is really going into the product and just how healthy it actually
is.

Make your own informed decisions about their diet rather than
delegating it to some company that puts profits before caring.

What makes you think that the store bought food is any more nutrionally
balanced, just because the company says so?

I would sooner trust the opinion of an independent pet owner studying a
cat's natural diet than a company who's main motive is profit.  Most of
these homemade recipes are given out for free by people who have pets
they love and have taken much time to study the diets they propose.

The best thing to do is simply not have a pet and let them live in the
wild.  However, without a home many of these pets will live in
shelters.  Also, we like companionship and so do these animals.  In
addition, there are not many wild environments left.

So, we just have to make an informed decision when choosing the diet.
Looking at their natural diet which they have had for millions of years
is a good basis.  We can't reach the full potential of a wild/natural
diet but we can come as close as we can.
